African Celebrities with good manners - 2020

Having money and fame doesn't exempt anyone from showing acts of kindness and respect towards others.

Parents and guardians around the world worry about  the famous people their children try to emulate. If you are one of them, then you can spend some time selecting famous people who act properly in public and give something back to the fans who put them on a pedestal.

Below are good role models I think your children can learn from:

1. Sadio Mamé - Senegal🇸🇳

Sadio Mamé

The African soccer star allows himself to rule his behavior.  I have never seen Mamé's name connected with a drug related scandal and I doubt I will anytime soon.

Mamé has managed to maintain his dignity and composure whether he is getting boos or an applause from the crowd.

The 28 year old Senegalese winger is also a philanthropist and a great example of good sports etiquette, one you wouldn't mind your child emulating.

Apart from receiving the African Footballer of the year award (2019),  Sadio also finished as the English Premier League joint-top goalscorer in the 2018-2019 season, winning the Premier League Golden Boot.

Sadio Mamé is one of the most celebrated footballer from Africa. I also love the fact that, he has gone beyond scoring great goals and has been working hard to develop the sport in his home country through his soccer academy.

2. Charmaine Shamiso "Sha Sha" Mpambiro-Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

Sha sha

Known as the royal "queen of amapiano" , the 2020 BET award winner is just but friendly and approachable. Shamiso signs autographs and accommodates everyone despite race, gender, color or religion.

Artists that have worked with Sha Sha including DJ Maphorisa and her mentor, Audius Mtawarira have described the girl from Mutare as a respectful and disciplined singer and songwriter.

Although Shamiso is still working on her discography, safe to say that, the future is bright. I like the way she endorses ethical behavior. I just wish all parents and guardians would teach their girls and boys appropriate behavior and manners, especially in public settings.

3. Siya Kolisi - South Africa🇿🇦

Siyamthanda Kolisi

Polite, generous and kind, Siya is a fan favorite,  a walking library of sportsmanship and diplomacy.  No wonder why Siyamthanda was appointed captain of the South African national rugby team in 2018. He is the first black man to hold the position and win the world cup.

Good principles can take you places hey.

Even after receiving discouraging comments and a series of injuries, the Springbok captain always keeps his chin up and self-confidence intact.

The 29 year old loose forward was part of the 100 most influential Africans list that was published by the New African magazine in December, 2019.

4. Anne Kansiime - Uganda🇺🇬

Kansiime

Her humour attracts all. Kansiime, the 'African Queen of Comedy' is one of the leading female comedians and her entertainment is designed to address some of the topical issues that affect people in their day-to-day lives in different communities.

Kansiime has inspired many comedians around the African continent and beyond to take up stand-up commedy as a professional career.

Despite her achievements and popularity,  Kansiime knows when and how to control her ego and manage her pride, especially in public.

Many of her followers from Uganda have labelled Kansiime as a down to earth and humble actress. No doubt, her behavior and sober character has seen Anne being invited to be the keynote speaker in regional and international prestigious events.

Apart from the four African celebrities, the continent is filled with top notch role models that have good manners. There is surely a lot one can learn from Sadio's character, Siya's principles, Sha Sha's lifestyle and Anne's personality.
